Highlights

The 7th Technology Summit and Technology Platform organised by CII & Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (APTDC) in Hyderabad on 4-5 October 2001 with Andhra Pradesh as the Partner State was a big success.

The focus areas for the summit were -

Translating Technology into Business
Technology for Competitiveness focussing on -
- Low Cost Automation
- Design
- IT Enablement
Technology for Social Development - Industry Initiative focussing on -
- Potable Water
- Disaster Management
Technology Development Case Studies

The organisations which showcased their technologies in the exhibition-Technology Platform included: Technology Export Development Organisation, Technology Development Board, Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, various departments of Government of Andhra Pradesh, CSIR Laboratories, TIFAC-CORE, DRDO Laboratories, Solid Works Corporation, L & T Infocity, Inventors association, etc.

The Summit was inaugurated by Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The key speakers at the Summit included Mr. Per Wisung, ABB, Sweden; Dr.Amit Chatterjee, Chief Technical Officer, Tata Steel; Mr.Udayant Malhoutra, Chairman, CII Technology Committee and President & Managing Director, Dynamatics Technologies Ltd.; Mr. S. Haas, Managing Director, Daimler Chrysler Research Centre; Mr. Aroon Raman, Managing Director, Raman Boards Limited; Mr. B. S. Punia, Joint Vice President - Business Strategy, DCM Shriram Consolidated Ltd., Mr. G. V. Prasad, CEO, Dr. Reddy’s Lab.; Dr. P. K. Saxena, Rockwell Automation; Dr. P. K.
