Technology Summit

Technology Summit is an ongoing, innovative platform, promoted by CII and DST to showcase India's premier technology knowledge and reflect stellar examples of overseas technologies.

The Summit is widely known to the industry & institutions in India as a large platform for technology networking within the country and with the organisations from Partner State. Technology Summit & Technology Platform has immensely helped in creating large interest and establishing linkages between Indian and overseas industry and research organisations.

CII and DST haves already organised International Technology Exchange under the banner of Technology Summit earlier. Technology Summit has already had 12 editions with various other countries like ASEAN, Canada, Russia, France, Israel, Germany as the Partner States in the past. The Summit is widely known to the industry and institutions in India as a large platform for technology networking within the country and with the organisations from partner state. This has really helped in creating large interest and establishing linkages between Indian and overseas industry and research organisations. In the Summit held in 2006 with ASEAN, a large delegation of 130 participants from 10 ASEAN countries & South Korea, and over 500 participants from India, representing Industry, the Government, academic & R&D Institutions. Similarly in the Summit with Canada in 2005, over 300 one-to-one meetings were organised between Indian and Canadian delegates.

Technology Summit shall involve all the stakeholders on either side with the following activities

Identification of technology interests of stakeholders in terms of technology strength and technology needs for technology joint projects, technology commercialization, technology sales in various forms of collaboration, viz. technology transfer, JV's etc.
Creating a major platform for meeting of technology providers and technology seekers - A major initiative taken by CII and DST for promoting technology in industry and facilitating technology up-gradation and development, has been to organise an annual flagship event, Technology Summit along with a concurrent exposition, Technology Platform.
Follow-up activities to sustain the initiative and to ensure that the collaborations initiated during the meeting, take off the ground.

The Major Objective of the initiative are to provide :

An interface between Research & Development (R&D) Bodies, Academic Institutions, Industry and Government

An opportunity to discuss technology related issues with experts and leaders from Industry, R&D, Academic Institutions and Government
Organise meeting for technology developers, innovators, scientists, academicians, SMEs and large companies including MNCs
A forum for networking and making new business contacts and market openings

The 13^th Technology Summit will focus on

Identifying Stakeholders from Industry, Institutes & Government, for their technology needs and offers
Building linkages for possible technology tie-ups
Creating a platform for crystallising of prospective technology tie-ups by the share holders in the Summit & Exhibition
Facilitating technology transfer after the summit in the areas of Biotechnology, Information & Communication Technology, Advanced Materials, Space Science & Technology, Technology Management, Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights and Food & Marine
